This form of monitoring reports on the suitability of the organisations health and safety arrangements and gives a snapshot on performance, how risks are being controlled, if workplace precautions are adequate and recommendations for improvement where so identified. It also assists with trend analysis.
An action and timescale is located at the end of each area of audit/inspection report to communicate to the stakeholder how the non-conformance has or will be closed out within a given timescale. Good practice and photographs are always included in reports.
In Regulation 7- (1) of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 states:
